“ Went for Soulful Sunday when they feature a soul food menu. I wasn't able to find an actual website for them but their daily menus are posted on their Facebook page. I went inside so that I could actually check out the spot , seems to be a pretty nice. The line to place your order is so the left when you walk in. There were a few people dining in but I couldn't really tell if they had table service or if you still had to go through the line. They also have a drive thru option. The food was standard. The dressing was a bit dry. They offered a choice of gravy that likely would have helped but I don't like gravy on my dressing. The cabbage were a bit overcooked but all was still edible. My mother had turnips on her plate, she advised they were tough also I sampled her yams and they were really good. 7.5 out of 10, would try again. ”
“ I ordered lunch from here through a delivery service. The fried pork chop was hot and had really good flavor. The coleslaw was very creamy and delicious. The baked beans has some sort of meat in it but they were really great. The corn bread was heavenly. It was soft and sweet not dry. The mac and cheese was ok. It had a little too much peppery seasoning for me and wasn't super creamy, but it was still good. I highly recommend this place!! ”
“ I stopped by Mother's Breakfast & BBQ. I had called in a breakfast Plate with a side of pancakes. They have both a drive thru window and you can walk in. The employees were friendly. The inside of the building was empty but there were several cars waiting at drive thru. I paid for my food and tipped the workers. For the Breakfast Plate and the side of Pancakes it was close to $15.00. I was a little bit taken aback at the price because I had grits eggs and pancakes and I guess a part of me feels that, especially for the portions given, the price could have been a bit lower. Honestly I almost changed my mind because of it. But as I started to factor in overhead and wages and insurance, plus the rising cost of food - it made sense. Somewhat. So I let it go. The food was good. It was filling. The grits and biscuit were extremely good. They had started to put up lunch. However they were not selling it at the time. I will return. I think it's better my dollars go to support black owned businesses (which I think Mother's is) instead of large corporate chains. It's simply the difference between my people being allowed to work, and owning the place. Having some ownership and direction and longevity in what they do. Overall, it was good food. I will be back. ”
